Our School

Aiken High School offers an innovative and nationally recognized program that encourages students to explore education through technology. Proven to increase graduation rates, test scores and college readiness, the New Tech program promotes problem-solving and project-based learning methods that give students the ownership and accountability they will need to transition to the workplace. The emphasis on career
planning makes a perfect fit for students looking for direct pathways to employment after graduation.

Students may take advantage of honors and AP-classes and career-technical education in the fields of agribusiness and production systems, engineering and design, early childhood education and teaching professions.

Programs like S.W.O.O.P. - Students Working on Occupational Pathways - pair students with local landscaping professionals to experience compensated, on-the-job training in a variety of construction trades. Students earn credit toward graduation while shadowing workforce mentors. Aiken also has a 61-acre “Land Lab” and nature trail, fully maintained by students.

Students who wish to pursue postsecondary education have access to the College and Career Resource Center staffed with a full-time counselor to schedule monthly college and university experiences, ACT and SAT preparation and assistance with the college application process. Through TEACh Cincinnati, Aiken partners with Miami University’s College of Education to provide students with an education pipeline to earn a full-ride scholarship and preferred hiring with CPS as a teacher upon graduation from Miami.
