Aiken High School
Empowering Students for Lifelong Success

Aiken High School - home of the Falcons

A world-class learning community empowering students to discover how to be successful global citizens

When school opens for the 2013-14 school year, Aiken High School will be home to the New Tech Program, a community of learning for grades 7 to 12 dedicated to teaching the skills students need to thrive in the 21st century. With emphasis on project-based learning, integrated technology, and a positive and empowering school culture, the New Tech program is nationally recognized for high graduation rates, raising ACT scores, and increasing college and career readiness. Instead of simply learning academic concepts, students will develop an understanding for why the content is relevant, as well as how to apply the knowledge to solve complex, real-world problems. These skills are essential in today’s global marketplace.

The New Tech program at Aiken will:

  • Provide innovative classes featuring project-based learning, integrated team teaching and one-to-one technology
  • Empower students to be self-directed critical-thinkers; effective communicators, technologically-advanced and participants in AP courses and co/extra-curricular activities
  • Create opportunities to apply 21st century skills through service learning internships and entrepreneurships
